Peer Support Hub identity design

Creating the identity for the Peer Support Hub, a bespoke system of support for organisations and services and their Peer Support Workers.

Peer Support Workers (PSW’s) provide a holistic approach within the healthcare system to setting goals, focussing on connection, hope, identity and empowerment. They provide a natural communication link, building rapport and trust through sharing experiences of ‘having been there’. This can help to alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation and show people that reaching their goals is possible. Their valuable experience brings an understanding of the health and social care system allowing them to support individuals throughout their treatment.

Studio Denley worked with the Peer Support Hub to produce a logo and supporting identity system that would help them to increase awareness of their services and communicate the wide range of assistance that they provide.

A hug in a logo

The discovery meeting covered many details about the Hub’s purpose and the role of PSW’s. Phrases that were repeated throughout the meeting were the sense of nurturing, welcoming and support. The logo illustrates these with its soft shapes and organic origins, with the placement of the shapes creating visual pathways through the logo to represent the journeys that individuals take with PSW’s.

Breaking the logo apart

Shuffling, expanding and re-arranging the logo is a reflection of what PSW’s cover in their day-to-day. Because not everyone is the same, their needs are varied and they need a different support focus or a different order of approach – yet everything remains balanced within the delivery. This adaptable part of the brand is expanded in the application of marketing materials, where the shapes work to add visual interest to layouts and house photography.

Representing experiences

To further represent that not all experiences are the same, a series of alternative shape outlines were created. These can be used throughout the brand to dial the intensity of the design up or down, allowing for a variety of scenarios and content types.

“Andy made the whole process seamless, his talent to transform thoughts and ideas into a logo that had real meaning behind it was remarkable and coupled with his patience meant that the finished design was one to be proud of. Having Andy on your team is an asset to any organisation and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend his work.”
